why is my manuscript which has x number of words when uploaded appear to have 2x number of words

Hi, when I uploaded my manuscript for analysis, the original text has x number of words but after I uploaded into 1min.AI, the asset is shown to be twice the number of words. This would cost us users extra tokens would it not, double, to our disadvantage?

I had the same experience when uploading a Resume, trying to reduce it down to X number of words, but when I uploaded it there where 2 x the words as what was shown in MS Word.
