question about life time purchase

I have hardly any ability to do anything because of no real credits. When we purchaed this life time subscription we had no idea that it would be a situation where we pay money and have nothing to show for it because there are no credits. can you please exaplin what I get with my lifetime and why it feels like a bait and switch.
